Charlie had the best Halloween. He got to wear a bear suit all day long. He got to meet beautiful new baby Maeve. He got to help Ruby and Emerson put on their costumes. He got to be in the Macomb Street Parade with Paschal, R, and E (and even got Rachel to carry him). He got to see Nola, Rocco, and Ava at the park party. He got to hang out with Zoe in the other park. He got to trick or treat. And he got to give out candy with Huck. Now he is laying down for sweet dreams.

Tonight Barclay asked Johanna to marry him and she said yes. I suggested they get Charlie to be their ring bear-er and he can wear his Halloween bear costume which will really be a savings.

Today Charlie’s Blue Igloo playgroup had a Halloween party and parade. It was so cute–they had little trick or treat bags with their names and lots of pumpkins and balloons. Charlie loved it and went wild for the balloons. The minute we got there he grabbed onto a balloon on a ribbon and did not let go for two hours.

Charlie really missed Huck while we were away. They are so pleased to be reunited.

Charlie loved playing with Ava this morning. He was so enthusiastic in his grabbing to say hi that he made her cry. When he saw her crying he tried to put his head down on her feet in what appeared to be a way to say “sorry you are crying”. Ava had on great gold shoes by the way.

Charlie is really into making new sounds. On the flight back from Dublin it was “dugalug dugalug dugalug” over and over. For the past few days there has been a lot of “duck a duck a duck aduck”

Charlie thinks that remotes can not only turn on the TV but also be used as phones. He picks up both remotes and phones and says “haiaia”, which seems to be his attempt at “hi”.

Charlie is falling in love with fall. And with his hat (compliments of Auntie Carol).

Charlie really wants to sink his teeth into ceramics.

Apple sauce is this week’s favorite food (to the exclusion of all others).
