Why would someone take 4 very young children in the sleet and snow to Rockefeller center and the Lego store there the day after Christmas? And why would the same person get on the subway afterwards with 3 of 4 screaming only to have other passengers clap when disembarking? For fun? To see how much one person can handle?

Charlie is happy to be able to snap with both hands.

Charlie “Are we getting a Christmas tree from an outside stand?”
ALB “No. This year we are using a faux tree which is a tree made of plastic.”
Charlie “no! Why? What is it made of?”
ALB “plastic. Maybe things that have been recycled.”
CHarlie “we don’t want that. Then it will be dirty.”
ALB “it’s clean. You will see. I think you will like it. This way the babies can tip it over or play in the water.”
Charlie “I want a real tree. We need a real tree. “

Particular about holiday decor. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Charlie wants to wear a Santa outfit and pull his sibling in a sled we have. I love his festive thoughts and creative spirit.

Teddy got to wear his pajamas to school today so they could have a Polar Express party. So cute. Charlie complained “Teddy gets to do two fun things today and I get one. “

Teddy “I have good news and bad news. Good news is nationals won the last game. Bad news is my Christmas tree is tipping over. “

Nelly says “thank you” unprompted when you give her something!! My heart is full.

Most participants finished their house (and about 20 chocolate santas) in 5-20 minutes. Scottie and Nell sat at the table putting candy on their houses for a full hour. Deirdre is so nice to put out this candy buffet every year.

I’ve been accused again of “ruining it up” when I forgot the words to a song I had just made up for him. I need to start remembering the words to these songs we are always making up.
