C&T are going to Martha’s Vineyard tomorrow so they can have fun with their grandparents and cousins while I deliver their new siblings. I am so sad about them going, I know I will miss them terribly, and I am a nervous wreck having the travel without me. They seem excited though and helped pack their suitcases this morning and then we went out to lunch (their favorite grilled cheese and chocolate milkshakes at the American City Diner). I can’t believe I have less than 24 hours with them before they leave and the twins come. I will be desperate for them to come home.

I still cannot get enough of Teddy just saying “Mama, mommy,” and look at me. I love it.

Charlie has been taking swimming lessons all week and loves to chat non-stop with his instructors as he is learning. I think he likes the talking more than the swimming.

Teddy has been talking more and more and more and now sings songs all the time. Charlie also sings and remembers every lyric to every song (and us good at making up his own).

Charlie asked “when you don’t have a hurt foot you can stay with just me?” I think he is tired of never having time alone. I assured him that yes, we would spend lots of time with just the two of us.

Charlie is still talking a lot about where monsters are, though doesn’t seem to be very afraid of them. He also talks a lot about bad guys and robbers and how the police will get them and his grandfather will send them to jail. He asked me to take him to the police station so we went today.

I really want to do special things with Teddy and Charlie each alone before the babies come but I can’t get anywhere with them because of these crutches.

I think Teddy really believes that a hat a day keeps the doctor away.

Teddy wants me to hold him all day in my lap, or what is left of it, while he says “Mama, Mommy,” over and over again. I love it.

Charlie is very sensitive to being able to pronounce words correctly and today was upset about the word theater, which is a hard word to pronounce. He kept saying it over and over and claiming that “I don’t know how to say it.” I appreciate his desire for precision and excellence but don’t want him to be too hard on himself.

Charlie asked for a lunch date with his friend Annie and requested Cactus Cantina.
