I can’t believe Charlie just had his last day of his first year of school. I keep crying when I think about it. His friends and teachers are all so wonderful. Luckily he will see them next year. When we were talking about it being the last day of school and how this summer he would be at camp as a Red Lobster and next year at school as a Sunshiner, he said ” I want to be a Bunny still.” I cry typing it…

Charlie is also taking swimming lessons with Griffin. I can’t believe he is in a pool by himself…

Teddy sings all the time now–he really likes Rock A Bye Baby. He also wants me to read the Classic Nursery Rhyme book about 5 times every day.

I pointed out this morning that a boy I the book we were reading had nice table manners. Charlie said “I don’t have nice table manners,” to which I replied “Yes you do,” to which he replied, “No I don’t. Teddy took them.”

Charlie said, “Where are the bad guys?” And I said replied “In jail.” And he said “Your dad puts them there and hits the bad guys with a sword to get them away.” And I said “I don’t think he hits them with anything.” And he said, “No, he does. He hits them with a sword.”

Yesterday I put down my crutches for about two minutes and walked from the table to the cabinet to put something away. Charlie’s eyes were huge watching me and he said “Mommy, you walked on two legs! I am so impressed!” Charlie, I am impressed with your vocabulary.

Teddy and Charlie has a wonderful week with Blue Igloo graduation and more importantly the visit from Laurance, Paul, and baby Clemie. Charlie kept saying that “the baby wants to see me,” and “she want to play with me,” and he would give her kisses–gently for the most part. They had fun in Charlottesville and were so good at a vineyard–Teddy ran around like he was superman with a napkin tied on as a cape and Charlie used the vineyard map to walk around investigating the grounds.

Charlie also held the map the entire car ride saying things like “You will need to go straight here to get there. Good idea.” He also made up a joke to pass the time “Two juices were walking down the street. One was a milkshake!” He’s getting there.
T&C also liked going to Monticello with everyone–even though their mother had to be pushed around in a wheelchair.
When Laurance, Paul and Clemie left yesterday, Charlie said “I miss Paul. Is he coming back another day?”

Yesterday, Charlie told me “That’s a big tummy.”

Then today we were talking about the babies kicking inside my tummy and he said “There’s is no soccer ball in there?” I guess it doesn’t make sense to be kicking with a ball to kick.
Later he said he wanted to “do a trick for the babies” and blew a raspberry on my tummy. He then said “Those babies want to play with me,” which is probably true.
Charlie is so sweet and cute I cannot stand it.

Charlie’s school had their annual Pajama Picnic yesterday evening, where all the kids wear their pjs to school, sing a song with their class, and have a picnic with pizza. Charlie was so excited for it and for days before was singing the songs he had been practicing at school and yesterday asked throughout the day if it was time to go yet.

The songs (Itsy Bitsy Spider and Let’s go to the Market) were so cute I wanted to cry. Charlie was having so much fun and it broke my heart when we had to go home and he wanted to stay. He asked me last night and today if we could do it again. Luckily, the answer is yes.

Paul, Laurance, and Baby Clemie have come form London to visit. Charlie seems to remember Paul from his trip to London and Ireland and is still a huge fan.
