Charlie has asked for a cake with his name on it “Have cake says Charlie!”

He also asked yesterday to pour his own milk saying “My spill my own milk in my cup by myself!”
He has been calling long sleeve shirts “down shirt” as in “Louis wearing a down shirt like me?” and short sleeve shirts “roll up shirts” as in “My need a wear a roll up shirt right now.”
And for a few weeks now he has been using a very low voice when he talks about certain things like sports.

I can’t believe Charlie is three. I want him to stay his tiny little self but I am also so excited watching him grow up. I can’t wait to have birthday fun with him!

3 years ago this minute I was having my first contractions going into labor with Charlie. I knew the baby that was going to be born was going to be amazing and that I was going to love that baby but I could never ever ever have anticipated how truly truly amazing Charlie is and how much I love him. He is just the sweetest, cutest, most beautiful, loving, funny, smart, silly, playful, curious, passionate, friendly little person in world. Every single day is totally miraculous with him. I love the touch of his little hand, his smile, his tiny teeth, his questions, his answers, his pensiveness, his jokes, his eagerness…I’m crying just thinking about much I love him and how lucky I am to get to be his mother and spend time watching him in total wonder. He has taught me so much and I am such a better person because of him. I wish I could go wake him up and play with him. Instead I’ll wait til breakfast when i serve him ice cream.

Here he is yesterday when I took mini cupcakes to his bunny class and read them Not A Box (please note cute cubby with crown in it.).

John Bayly Gidez and his brothers Kevin and Patrick sent Charlie a box of hand-me-downs that included 4 belts. Charlie went nuts–it was probably the best package he ever received. He has been wearing the belts no-stop and has taken them to school every day.

Charlie and Teddy trick or treated their little hearts out. Charlie loved giving out candy too. He was very brave even though at times he said “No scary people. No scary man–don’t like that.” I told them they could eat whatever candy they wanted from 3pm on but they ended up eating only a couple pieces. Nice restraint.

Yesterday we went to a Halloween Parade at Rose Park. Charlie wore a kinda basketball player costume, Teddy wore a onesie becasue his costume was too hot, and Huck and I wore matching tutus that I made.

Today we went to the Halloween Party at Blue Igloo. Teddy loved the moon bounce even though he was too small. Charlie ate 2 cupcakes and 3 cookies before 9:20 a.m., squirted two tubes of iceing in his mouth, and shoved handfuls on sprinkles in.

Charlie’s vocabulary expands so much every day. He used to say “snap it” for snapping it, buttoning it, or otherwise closing it. Yesterday he asked me to help with his shirt button saying “You belt it? Belt it? Button it! You button it? You unbut it?”

Teddy says the sound “hi” whenever he sees anything now.
