Teddy has become so attached to his bunny puppet that he sleeps with. He takes it all over with him and cried last night when he woke up and it wasn’t in the crib (we put it in the dryer after he dunked it in the dog bowl). When you go i to get him up from sleeping, he hold it out for you to kiss.

Teddy was trying to make a lego tower but putting the blocks together and could get one of two but couldn’t get them all to work. each time he couldn’t get it right he cried out in frustration. He is still so young to be playing with them and I hope he isn’t getting too frustrated–it is too much to expect of himself as such a little guy.

They were filming a commercial in Montrose and gave Teddy a bunch of balloons at the end. They got all knotted and Charlie asked me “Untungle them?”. I said “Sure, I can untangle them for you.” And he repeated ‘Untangle, untungle, untangle, untungle,” really trying to figure it out. He has a huge vocabulary and tries so hard. Yesterday he said “I saw Jean Pierre and his little boy, his little boy…his son! I saw Jean Pierre and his son!” So proud that he had figured out the correct word.

Tonight I asked him “How did you and daddy make the pizza?” and He said “Put it in the oven and make it pizza!!”

We had a great weekend. We went to NCRC’s pumpkin party yesterday (where Teddy went on the first pony ride of his life), then to the Arena Stage re-opening which Mitzi had worked so hard on, and then out to dinner with Greg, Hannah, and Milly who had come to town for the opening. Today we played and had bagels in the park with Jenny, Peter and Alice who were visiting this afternoon we went on a hike through Rock Creek (Teddy rode on my back and Charlie walked almost the whole way on his own two feet), and then we made pizza for dinner. So so perfect, all of it.

There is really no celebrity in the world I am particularly interested in talking to other than Tim Gunn, which is why I went to a party for him tonight so I could be up close and in person.

Charlie loves his clothes. He has begin laying out shirts and shorts on his floor. He also layers and today wore two basketball jerseys at once. And he has begun taking a shirt in his crib with him to sleep as some sort of sartorial security–like he know he will have a change of clothes in there or will be prepared the minute he wakes up.

Charlie uses “anyone” to replace no one, as in “Anyone home.”

Charlie and Teddy are very excited about Halloween and all the decorations. When we see a house that’s decorated, Charlie says “Have Halloween in there!” I took him pumpkin shopping the other day at Johnsons. He was thrilled and picked out one for Huck, one for Teddy, and some furry spiders and cobwebs.

Teddy points at pumpkins as we pass them walking down the street and likes to touch every one he can reach.
