The day before Easter, Charlie and Teddy went to an Easter egg hunt at their friend Jason’s house. Charlie had a great time finding eggs and eating candy. Teddy fell madly in love with the lifesize Easter Bunny*. He would laugh and giggle and hide his face, acting coy. Seriously flirting with this bunny. He would cry until the bunny would come back over and talk to him.

C=2 years, 5 months

Charlie pointed to a nest in a tree, “Egg. In it. Baby bird. Pop out!!!” He was thrilled he told me this information. It was like he figured out the meaning of life. Or at least articulated it.

Today I told Charlie that at Passover tonight if he found the Afikomen he would get a prize. He replied “Prize mean?” Such a clear and concise question for such a small person.

Driving through Rock Creek Park on the way home from Runnymede last night Charlie said “Scary monster. No scary hiding in woods hiding in trees. Monster no eat li’lle boy. Eat food.” Where did he get the idea that monsters would eat little boys? I replied that of course there were no scary monsters hiding, if there were any they were nice and that they would not eat little boys. So C said “Charlie big chef cooks dinner monsters. Li’lle baby monster eat kiwi. Big monster eat salad. Love kiwi. Hi monster! Monster scared Daddy.”
