Carol tried to teach Charlie to use the boogie board but he didn’t think it was a good idea.

Also over the weekend we went to Caleb, Willie and Eliza’s for a bbq, where Charlie hung out with baby Coco and played with Caleb’s water table. And on the way home we saw about 40 deer in Rock Creek.

Over Labor Day weekend Hannah and Milly came to DC. Charlie was siked.*Please note Milly’s drawing of Huck herding sheep over some hills. Excellent. Also MJ set off fireworks. I bet the neighbors were thrilled.

Six people at the farmer market stopped us the other day to say what a happy baby Charlie is. It happens all the time. And he is incrediably happy. There is nothing a mother could want more.
